Colt has everything that a stereotypical western anti-hero has. He was in the army, and then his family was killed, (yeah, robots have families too, ya know.,,) and then he became an outlaw and then went back to the army.

He is your typical cliché character and that's one of many reasons why he is not the protagonist.
